What we use, and what you can switch off.
Last updated 10 May 2026. We use a small number of cookies — entirely first-party — to make the site work and to understand which pages get used. No third-party tracking, no advertising pixels.
What is a cookie?
A small piece of data stored by your browser to remember things across page loads (whether you're signed in, what's in your basket, your preferences). They aren't programs and they can't access your computer beyond the data set by the site.
What we use
- sh_session — your sign-in token. HTTP-only, 7-day rolling expiry. Strictly necessary.
- sh_cart_v2 — what's in your basket. Stored in localStorage (not a cookie, no expiry — clears when you finish checkout). Strictly necessary.
- sh_trade_approved (legacy) — whether you have trade pricing visible. Being phased out as we move to server-side resolution. No expiry.
What we don't use
- Third-party advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Cross-site tracking pixels.
- Social-media share-button trackers.
- Heat-map / session-replay tools.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page-view counts. It's cookieless — it doesn't identify individual users and doesn't set tracking cookies on your browser.
Stripe
When you proceed to checkout, Stripe (our payments processor) may set cookies on the Stripe-hosted checkout page for fraud prevention. We don't control or see those cookies. Stripe's privacy notice is at stripe.com/privacy.
Opting out
Because we don't set non-essential cookies, there's nothing to opt out of for the storefront itself. To clear what's there, use your browser's "Clear cookies for this site" option.
